Model History and Information: The Mitsubishi F-2 was developed jointly by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Lockheed Martin from the F-16, with a larger composite wing, a lengthened fuselage and an active electronically scanned array radar, and it serves as the Japan Air Self-Defense Force's main fighter for anti-ship and ground attack missions. The two-seat F-2B is used mainly to train F-2 pilots while retaining full combat capability. Exercise Veer Guardian 23, held in Japan in January 2023, was the first bilateral air exercise between the JASDF and the Indian Air Force.
