Model History and Information: The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is a mid-engined supercar introduced in 2011 as the successor to the Murcielago. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, internally designated L539, producing 700 PS (690 hp), which is where the LP700-4 name comes from; the '4' refers to its four-wheel-drive layout. Power reaches all four wheels through a seven-speed single-clutch automated manual transmission built by Graziano Trasmissioni. Lamborghini quoted a 0-60 mph time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 217 mph. Like its predecessors, the Aventador uses a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis for a favourable strength-to-weight ratio, and its angular, low-slung styling continues Lamborghini's long-standing wedge-shaped design language.
