The P-38J introduced improved engine cooling and cockpit heating. One J variant, serial 43-28538, carried the name Virginia Marie and the number 194 while assigned to the 433rd Fighter Squadron of the 475th Fighter Group in New Guinea. An aviation-history publication places the aircraft at Biak in October 1944; another aircraft history records earlier operations from Hollandia. The type's range made it useful for escort missions over the Pacific.

Model Features & Details:

1:72 scale painted diecast Lockheed P-38J Lightning.

Rotatable propellers.

Progressive paint scheme of "Virginia Marie".

Ready to display with the included stand, no assembly required.

Produced under license from Lockheed Martin for the P-38 Lightning trademarks.

Packaging: Includes one diecast model, cradle, display base, and limited-edition certificate.

https://motorcityclassicsinc.com/products/lockheed-p-38j-lightning-virginia-marie-new-guinea-1944-aa36618
