Model History and Information: Navistar unveiled the LoneStar at the Chicago Auto Show in 2008 and had it in dealer order books by that April. The styling looks backwards on purpose: the big grille and bumper, the external air cleaners and the vertical exhaust stacks are drawn from the International Harvester D-series of the late 1930s, all finished in chrome. The company called the result an advanced classic, pairing that appearance with aerodynamic work aimed at fuel economy. It went from concept to production in twenty-four months, skipping conventional prototypes.
