Model History and Information: This 1:64 scale edition depicts an M1046 HMMWV TOW Missile Carrier assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, KFOR, in Gnjilane, Kosovo, in June 1999. The M1046 configuration combines supplemental armor with a roof-mounted TOW launcher for anti-armor missions. The HMMWV family, built by AM General, entered U.S. military service by 1985 as a four-wheel-drive utility platform later adapted for a range of combat roles. The launcher fires the BGM-71 TOW, a wire-guided anti-tank missile first produced in 1970 and mounted on HMMWVs and other combat vehicles, with a maximum range of about 3,750 meters in most production variants.
