M42 Duster- Vietnam War- II Field Force, 5th Battalion, 2nd Field Artillery Regiment (1:72 Scale)
Product Dimensions: 3.18 x 1.77 x 1.56 in.
Model History and Information: The M42 Duster is a U.S. self-propelled anti-aircraft gun that mounted twin 40 mm M2A1 Bofors cannon on a modified M41 light-tank chassis, built by General Motors starting in 1952 and entering service in 1953. Each barrel fired at a cyclic rate of about 120 rounds per minute, for a combined rate of roughly 240 rounds per minute. Because Vietnam saw little enemy air activity, the Army redeployed Dusters for point security, convoy escort and perimeter defense, where their twin automatic cannon proved highly effective against troop concentrations and helped stem frontal assaults. This edition depicts a Duster of II Field Force, 5th Battalion, 2nd Field Artillery Regiment.
