Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.3-16 1984 Smoke silver metallic 1:18
Product Dimensions: 9.70 x 3.69 x 3.01 in.
Model History and Information: The Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.3-16 was developed with Cosworth to give the compact W201 a high-performance touring-car identity. Its 16-valve engine and aerodynamic bodywork helped establish the sporting side of the 190 range during the 1980s. Developed to homologate the 190 for Group A touring car racing, the 2.3-16 paired a Cosworth-designed 16-valve cylinder head with a close-ratio dogleg gearbox and a limited-slip differential, producing 185 PS. Wider wheel arches, deeper front and rear aprons and a boot-lid spoiler set it apart from standard 190 models. The car was presented to the public in May 1984 with a demonstration race at the reopening of the Nurburgring's Grand Prix circuit, an event won by Ayrton Senna.
