Soviet units deployed the type to Afghanistan after the 1979 intervention, where air operations faced a difficult combination of terrain, climate and insurgency. This 115th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment aircraft at Bagram in 1980 captures the MiG-21 in that early Afghan-war setting rather than in its better-known European front-line role. The named serial, unit, date and finish on this model identify the individual historical subject represented: MIG-21bis 115th GIAP, Soviet VVS, Bagram AB, Afghanistan 1980.

Model Features & Details:

This highly detailed diecast airplane model is true to scale and contains functional parts designed for realism and display.

The model is largely handcrafted and only premium materials are used, making the range one of the most valued military finished models by collectors.

Highly detailed and authentic printings and finishing

Highly refined and realistic panel lines

1:72 scale diecast aircraft display model

Configuration and markings represented: MIG-21bis 115th GIAP, Soviet VVS, Bagram AB, Afghanistan 1980

Diecast metal construction with plastic detail components

Panel lines, antennas and surface details represented

Pad-printed national, unit or aircraft markings

Collector display subject

Packaging: Full-color printed Hobby Master retail box with internal protective packaging.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0277/5197/2966/files/HA0003_3_a99f77fe-3d5a-433a-9a78-68135ade0fa4.jpg?v=1790898994
