Model History and Information: The Mirage 2000N was developed by Dassault Aviation as a two-seat, low-level strike version of the Mirage 2000, built around the ASMP stand-off nuclear missile and fitted with terrain-following radar for high-speed penetration at very low altitude. It entered French Air Force service in 1988 and carried the airborne component of France's nuclear deterrent for three decades, while also flying conventional missions over the Balkans, Afghanistan and Libya. The type was retired in June 2018.
