Model History and Information: The NF-5A was the single-seat, Canadair-built Northrop F-5 supplied to the Royal Netherlands Air Force, a light supersonic fighter-bomber; seventy-five were delivered from Canada between 1969 and 1972. Through the 1970s the type equipped Dutch front-line squadrons and was a regular participant in European air-show displays, where individual aircraft were at times finished in special demonstration markings. The Netherlands operated the NF-5 until 1991, after which surplus airframes were sold abroad. This model depicts a Dutch NF-5A of the late-1970s display period. The named serial, unit, date and finish on this model identify the individual historical subject represented: NF-5A "RNLAF Demo Jet" K-3031, RNLAF, Meeting Aerien Cambrai 1978 (1:72 Scale).
