Model History and Information: The Royal Netherlands Air Force received seventy-five single-seat NF-5A and thirty two-seat NF-5B fighters built under licence by Canadair in Canada. The first ferry flight reached Twenthe air base on 19 November 1969 and deliveries continued until March 1972. The two-seat NF-5B was used for conversion and continuation training while remaining fully combat capable. No. 313 Squadron flew the type from Twenthe until July 1988, while No. 314 Squadron operated from Eindhoven until 1988 and then from Gilze-Rijen until 1990, the Dutch Freedom Fighter fleet being withdrawn as the F-16 entered service.
