North American F-86F Sabre (1:72 Scale)
Product Dimensions: 6.25 x 6.19 x 2.46 in.
Model History and Information: North American Aviation began the F-86 as a straight-wing naval fighter concept, then adopted a 35-degree swept wing after studying captured German wartime research, and the XP-86 prototype first flew on 1 October 1947. The F-86A entered U.S. Air Force service in 1949 as the first American swept-wing fighter, and over Korea it met Soviet-built MiG-15s in the war's first sustained jet-versus-jet combat, in the region known as MiG Alley. The F-86F variant, introduced in 1952 with a strengthened wing, became the principal Sabre version flown during the last year of the Korean War and was later widely exported and license-built for allied air forces.
