Model History and Information: The Opel Kadett C was built from August 1973 to July 1979. Its open variant, the Kadett Aero, was converted by the Stuttgart coachbuilder Baur and shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 1976. It combined a roll bar, a removable targa roof insert and a folding top behind the roll bar, and the open-air concept came from Erich Bitter. It launched with the 1.2 S engine rated at 60 PS, and a 75 PS 1.6 S followed in 1977. Production ran from 1976 until early 1978, and published counts range from 1,242 to 1,332 cars.
