Model History and Information: The 35th Fighter Squadron of the 8th Fighter Group flew the P-40N Warhawk in New Guinea during 1943 and early 1944, supporting the Allied advance along the northern coast of the island against Japanese airfields and shipping. The P-40N was the most numerous version of the Warhawk; it was lightened and fitted with an improved Allison engine, and squadrons in the Southwest Pacific often decorated their aircraft with individual names and artwork.
