Model History and Information: The Chinese-American Composite Wing was formed in 1943 under the Fourteenth Air Force, pairing Chinese and American pilots and ground crews in the same squadrons. Its 3rd Fighter Group, which included the 7th Fighter Squadron, flew P-40 Warhawks against Japanese forces across China until the end of World War II. The P-40N was the most numerous version of the Warhawk, lightened and fitted with an improved Allison engine.
