Model History and Information: Peugeot unveiled the 504 saloon at the Paris Salon on 12 September 1968, and it was named European Car of the Year for 1969. The coupé and the cabriolet followed at the Geneva Salon in March 1969, styled by Pininfarina on a wheelbase of 2,550 mm, 190 mm shorter than the saloon. The coupé launched with the 1.8 litre fuel-injected four of 97 PS, replaced by a 2.0 litre at the end of 1970. From September 1974 a 2.7 litre PRV V6 of 136 PS became available. Production of the coupé and cabriolet ended in August 1983, after 31,163 cars.
