Model History and Information: The 982 is the fourth generation of Porsche's mid-engined two-seat sports car, built from 2016 to 2025 in Boxster roadster and Cayman coupe forms. The open-top Spyder RS, revealed in 2023, sits at the top of the roadster range. It shares its high-revving, naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six with the Cayman GT4 RS; derived from the 911 GT3 unit, the engine produces 500 PS (368 kW), develops 450 N-m of torque, and revs to 9,000 rpm. Drive reaches the rear wheels solely through a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. The RS designation, long reserved for Porsche's most focused models, reflects a lighter, more track-oriented specification than other 718 variants.
