Rafale B "Opertaion Chammal" 104-10, French Air Force, Dec 2015 (with 2 x SCALP missiles) (1:72 Scale)
Model History and Information: The Rafale B is the two-seat, land-based version of Dassault's twin-engine, canard delta-wing multirole fighter. From September 2014 the French Air Force committed Rafales to Operation Chammal, France's contribution to the coalition against the Islamic State, initially flying reconnaissance and strike sorties over Iraq from Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates. In late September 2015 France extended the campaign into Syrian airspace. Aircraft on this deployment carried the base identifier tied to Al Dhafra. Two-seat Rafale Bs were valued for long-endurance precision missions with laser- and GPS-guided weapons. This model depicts an aircraft in that late-2015 Chammal configuration.
