Dassault Rafale C Nomedi 75 Aynos (1:72 Scale)
Product Dimensions: 8.35 x 5.96 x 2.92 in.
Model History and Information: This aircraft carries the 75th-anniversary scheme of Escadron de Chasse 2/30 “Normandie-Niémen,” marking 1942-2017 with a red star and Cyrillic lettering that recall the unit's wartime service alongside Soviet forces. Formed in September 1942, the “Normandie” group was the only Western squadron to fight alongside the Red Army on the Eastern Front, flying from March 1943 to May 1945 and credited with 273 enemy aircraft destroyed before it earned the added honorific “Niémen.” After decades on the Mirage F1, the squadron was deactivated in 2009 and reactivated on 25 June 2012 at Mont-de-Marsan air base, where it now flies the Dassault Rafale as an omnirole fighter covering air-defence, strike, reconnaissance and nuclear-deterrent missions.
