Model History and Information: Early-production StuG III Ausf. G vehicles marked the point at which the assault gun became a full-fledged anti-tank weapon. The long 7.5 cm gun could engage armour at ranges that the short-gun models could not, yet the fixed superstructure kept a low target profile. As Germany's tank output struggled to meet losses, the StuG's lower cost and shared Panzer III components made it especially important. The bush camouflage is a display-specific finish. It is not used as evidence for a particular unit, date or vehicle photograph.
