Model History and Information: The Su-30M2 is a two-seat multirole derivative of the Su-27 family developed by KnAAPO from the export-oriented Su-30MK2. Unlike the Su-27UB trainer it is based on, it is built as a combat aircraft rather than a dedicated trainer, retaining a second crew station for weapons-system and mission management. The Russian air force placed its first order in 2009, with factory testing completed in 2010, and has operated the type in small numbers alongside the more widely produced Su-30SM within the modern Russian Aerospace Forces fighter fleet.
