Model History and Information: The Su-30SM2 is an upgraded version of the Su-30SM two-seat multirole fighter, fitted with the more powerful AL-41F-1S engines and avionics shared with the Su-35S. Like the Su-30SM, it combines thrust-vectoring nozzles and canard foreplanes for exceptional maneuverability with a large weapons load for air-to-air and strike missions. Russian Naval Aviation operates the Su-30SM family with its fleets to provide air defense and maritime strike capability.
