T-34/85 w/Bedspring Armor (Winter Thaw Version) (1:72 Scale)
Product Dimensions: 4.43 x 1.64 x 1.48 in.
Model History and Information: Soviet engineers fitted the T-34 with an 85 mm gun in a new three-man turret in late 1943, giving crews a weapon that could engage the German Panther and Tiger at ranges where the earlier 76 mm gun could not, and freeing the tank commander from also serving as gunner or loader. The first production vehicles, completed at Factory No. 112 from January 1944, used the D-5T gun; a simpler, easier-to-manufacture gun, the ZiS-S-53, followed a month later and became the standard armament. Output rose quickly, reaching about 1,200 tanks a month by May 1944, and Soviet factories built roughly 22,600 T-34-85s in 1944 and 1945 combined, on top of earlier T-34 production, making it one of the most numerous tanks of the war.
