Model History and Information: No. 112 Squadron RAF was one of the first units to paint the fearsome shark-mouth marking on its aircraft, applying it to the Curtiss Tomahawks it flew over the Western Desert in 1941. The design suited the P-40's deep chin radiator and became one of the most famous fighter markings of the war. Among the squadron's pilots was the young Neville Duke, who went on to become the RAF's leading ace in the Mediterranean theatre. Flying Tomahawks in North Africa, Duke opened an account that would eventually reach some two dozen victories. This model represents a 112 Squadron Tomahawk Mk.IIB, coded GA-F, in the desert of 1941.
