Model History and Information: Saudi Arabia acquired the interdictor/strike Tornado under the Al Yamamah agreements with Britain from the mid-1980s, and the type became a mainstay of the Royal Saudi Air Force strike fleet. No. 75 Squadron, part of 11 Wing at King Abdulaziz Air Base, Dhahran, has long operated the version. In late August 2013 a pair of these aircraft flew non-stop from Italy to RAF Coningsby in England to join a multinational Green Flag training exercise alongside Royal Air Force Tornados, a deployment lasting roughly three weeks. The design is a two-seat, twin-engine, variable-geometry bomber developed jointly by Britain, West Germany and Italy, exported to Saudi Arabia in a version derived from the RAF's own strike aircraft. The named serial, unit, date and finish on this model identify the individual historical subject represented: Tornado GR.1 7507, 75th Sqn., RSAF, Coningsby AB, 2013 (1:72 Scale).
