Tornado GR. 4 “RAF 100 Years” ZA554, RAF Marham, 2018 (1:72 Scale)
Product Dimensions: 9.28 x 7.61 x 3.26 in.
Model History and Information: The Royal Air Force marked its centenary in 2018, and a number of its aircraft carried commemorative markings that summer. This ground-attack Tornado, based at Marham in Norfolk, wore such a scheme. The Marham force contributed jets to the large formation that flew over London on 10 July 2018 as part of the celebrations. The GR4 was the upgraded version of Britain's swing-wing strike aircraft, given precision weapons, improved sensors and a reconnaissance capability; the fleet saw combat over Iraq, the Balkans, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria across nearly three decades. The RAF retired its Tornado force at Marham in early 2019, ending the type's long front-line career with the service. The named serial, unit, date and finish on this model identify the individual historical subject represented: Tornado GR. 4 “RAF 100 Years” ZA554, RAF Marham, 2018 (1:72 Scale).
