Model History and Information: The Volkswagen Corrado was presented in 1988 as a 2+2 coupe based on the Golf II and built by Karmann in Osnabruck. Volkswagen had decided in 1984 to keep building the Scirocco II and to position the Corrado above it. The G60 was the launch engine, a 1.8-liter four-cylinder with the G-Lader supercharger, rated at 118 kW (160 PS). The car was front-wheel drive, and its rear spoiler extended automatically at 120 km/h. A 16-valve 2.0 and a VR6 arrived in 1991, the G60 was discontinued in 1993, and production ended on 6 July 1995.
