Model History and Information: The Volkswagen Beetle, officially the Type 1, was designed under Ferdinand Porsche and produced from 1938 to 2003, making it one of the longest continuously built car platforms in history, with more than 21 million units made; the final example came off the line in Puebla, Mexico. This model reproduces “The Beetle,” Volkswagen's third-generation retro-styled model built on the A5 platform and produced, also in Puebla, from 2011 to 2019. It is finished here in pink with opening doors and a sticker sheet for customisation. Both the air-cooled original and this later reinterpretation share the rounded roofline and fastback silhouette that made the Beetle instantly recognizable worldwide.
