Model History and Information: This replica mounts a McNeilus Bridgemaster mixer on a Western Star 4900 chassis fitted with a lift axle. McNeilus describes the Bridgemaster as a federal-bridge-compliant mixer that maximizes payload within local weight restrictions and specific state roadway laws. It includes most of the performance features of the company's Standard Mixer plus a patented load-distribution tag axle that allows higher legal payloads, and that tag axle is reproduced at the rear of the drum on this model. Western Star offered the 4900 in set-forward, set-back, extended-hood and extreme-duty versions, with Detroit and Cummins engines and Allison automatic transmissions among the listed options.
